This series continues after the original run of Ultimate X-Men #1-100 and the one-shot Ultimate X-Men: Requiem. Taking place several months after those stories, mutants are in hiding and have to turn themselves in or they'll be shot on sight. Some are in hiding, like Jean Grey, who is now known as Karen Grant. Others are just confused and need help. This title is solicited by Marvel as 'Ultimate Comics X' but the indicias of the released issues read 'Ultimate X'.
