The story begins with Spider-Man having to make a quick decision and save the life of Cardiac and a Security Officer at the same time. After saving both lives Spider-Man chases after Cardiac who has found evidence of tests on Human subjects.

NOTE: Carnage has a brief cameo (page 13 of story) as a set up for the next issue's story.

NOTE: Gunther Stein becomes the first victim of Carnage.
